Introducing The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 

Trusted in extreme and emergency situations for more than 20 years, The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 is a top-of-the-line blood warmer and rapid infuser which enables the rapid and reliable delivery of life-saving blood and IV fluids to combat hypothermia and blood loss in both adult and paediatric patients. 

Available in either a model that delivers fluid at rates from 2.5 to 750ml per minute, or a model that delivers fluid at rates from 2.5 to 1000mls per minute, The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 is made for fast action. The device can be fully primed and infusing your patient in under one minute, utilises a peristaltic roller pump that enables accurate, rapid fluid delivery, for paediatric and adult patients and features an intuitive digital touchscreen display that provides clear on-screen instructions for priming, operation, and troubleshooting. 

Aluminium-free blood and fluid delivery 

The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 guarantees 100 per cent aluminium-free delivery of blood and fluids. While studies have shown that some other blood and fluid warmers leach unsafe levels of aluminium into infusates over time, The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 uses a medical grade stainless steel heat exchanger and entirely aluminium-free disposables to effectively prevent the risk of aluminium toxicity and increase overall patient safety.  

Essential management of postpartum haemorrhage  

In addition to its applications in emergency, critical care and operating room settings, The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 is an ideal solution for combatting complications in Labour & Delivery, including the treatment of postpartum haemorrhage (PPH).  

Of all maternal mortality and morbidity, PPH is the most serious and common, with 6 per cent of all deliveries worldwide involving PPH. Early recognition of blood loss, prompt activation of massive transfusion protocol (MTP), and immediate availability of essential equipment such as Rapid Infusers are critical to providing life-saving treatment from PPH. 

During critical treatment of PPH, The Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 can keep up with uterine blood loss, which can reach rates of up to 600ml/min near-term. In response, the Belmont® Rapid Infuser RI-2 can perform reliable and accurate high-speed delivery of warmed blood back to mothers, with a flow rate of up to 1000 ml/min.
