Our mission: Bringing meaningful healthcare solutions to the people of Asia Pacific.
Founded in 1852 by Joseph and Max Getz, the Getz Group started as a general store in California. Their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, making Getz Bros. a respected wholesale business across the U.S. By the 1870s, they had entered Asian markets, exporting goods to Shanghai and Hong Kong. Over the next four decades, Getz Bros. became a trusted name in international marketing and distribution, expanding into South-East Asia with offices in Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, and trading in India, Australia, Indonesia, Burma, and Ceylon.
What we do
It wasn’t until 1965 that Getz Healthcare arrived in Australia. In the decades since, Getz Healthcare has gained a reputation as the leading distributor of high-end medical products and services throughout Australia, currently representing 220 product ranges from over 50 brands.
Just as the Getz Bros.’ success was a result of Joseph and Max’s forward thinking, insight, and honest and ethical reputation, Getz Healthcare continues to be known for these high values, which remain at the core of our business. Today, the Getz Group has over 150 offices and 12,000 employees globally and we continue to be a trusted name across the globe as we serve the medical industry with Getz Healthcare.
With over two decades of experience in the medical devices industry, Derek brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this new role. Derek previously held senior positions at Endotherapeutics Pty Ltd and N. Stenning & Co., and since joining Getz Healthcare ANZ in March 2017, Derek has showcased great leadership qualities, first as the divisional manager for Surgical, and more recently as the Sales Director for ANZ.
